More aircraft in Argentina: Flybondi announces a new fleet increase
- In addition to the 2 aircraft it recently added, another 2 aircraft will be added under the wet lease modality for the summer season.
- For the first time, the company will operate with Airbus A320 aircraft.
Buenos Aires, November 15, 2024. Flybondi, the largest private Argentine airline in the country, announces that it will add more aircraft to its fleet that will be operational to increase its offer during the summer season. In addition to the 2 aircraft it added in the last week, another 2 aircraft will arrive in the country in the coming days and with this additional 4, the airline will have a fleet of 19 aircraft.
With this new agreement, Flybondi will incorporate Airbus A320 aircraft with 180 seats, unlike the rest of its fleet made up of Boeing 737-800 NG. The aircraft, which are registered in Lithuania, will be operational from November 2024 to March 2025. This increase in capacity will allow the low-cost airline to strengthen the connectivity network of its routes by incorporating new frequencies and evaluating new destinations.
Flybondi is the first airline to implement agreements under the ACMI modality in the country. This is thanks to the reform of the Aeronautical Code, which allows foreign personnel to perform functions in commercial air services as well as the use of foreign-registered aircraft.
“This growth in our fleet allows us to offer a great proposal for the summer season because we are going to increase domestic flights and frequencies on our routes with Brazil. We are also evaluating adding new destinations for the short and medium term. Flybondi’s commitment to Argentina is solid and sustainable: today we are the largest private Argentine airline in the country and we want to promote productive development, job creation and the promotion of tourism” said Mauricio Sana, CEO of Flybondi
Flybondi has already transported more than 13,000,000 people since it began operating in 2018, democratising the plane as a means of transport. It is worth noting that 20% of its passengers are people who travelled by plane for the first time in their lives.
The airline currently flies to 19 national destinations and 3 international destinations, through 26 routes (18 domestic to and from Buenos Aires, 5 interprovincial and 3 international).
