Last Condor B767 passenger flight arrives in Frankfurt

March 12, 2024 – Farewell Condor B767-300ER: Today, Tuesday, the last B767 passenger flight under Condor flight number landed at Frankfurt Airport. The aircraft with the registration D-ABUK took off with 193 passengers on March 11, 2024 at 10:05 p.m. local time from Cuba, Havana. With the arrival of today’s flight in Frankfurt, Condor is saying farewell to the B767 from commercial flight operations. In Frankfurt, the aircraft was greeted with a follow-me escort to the gate position.

“The Boeing 767 was successfully operated by Condor for over 30 years. The most recently retired D-ABUC even holds the Boeing record for flight hours of this type. With the advances in technology, product and sustainability, the modernization has now become necessary,” says Christian Schmitt, COO and Accountable Manager Condor. “The aircraft has a very special significance for Condor and its many employees. We are convinced that its reliability and resilience have been an important aspect of Condor’s success in recent years. The last passenger flight marks the end of an era.”

Condor received its first three Boeing 767-300ERs in July 1991. This was the first time that the average fuel consumption fell below 4 liters. In the original version, the B767 was operated with 24 seats in Comfort Class and 245 seats in Economy Class. Over the years, the configuration evolved into the current one, with up to 259 seats in a three-class configuration: Business Class, Premium Economy Class and Economy Class. The livery also changed over the years, so that during their time with Condor, the aircraft were seen in a total of 13 different liveries, in the special liveries “JA zu FRA” and “Janosch” as well as the retro livery “Achim”.

Since 2022, Condor has phased out a total of 16 B767 aircraft and successively replaced them with brand-new A330neo aircraft. D-ABUK will no longer be part of the Condor AOC from mid-April 2024. The aircraft is expected to take off on April 16, 2024 with a Condor cockpit via Bangor to Goodyear, where it will be handed over to the lessor.
