PSA Airlines to add 14 CRJ900NG aircraft to its fleet
DAYTON, OHIO – PSA Airlines, a wholly owned subsidiary of American Airlines Group and leading regional airline, today announced it is adding 14 CRJ900NG (NextGen) aircraft to its fleet. The aircraft are being purchased by American and will be leased to PSA. They will be delivered and inducted in phases.
The addition of these 14 aircraft further highlights PSA’s continued growth and its significance to American’s network and its American Eagle portfolio.
“PSA is on a well-planned growth trajectory that involves more team members flying more aircraft and customers as we continue to expand and enhance our operation,” said Dion Flannery, PSA Airlines President and CEO. “This year, we fully restored staffing, resurrected all our parked aircraft and inducted the last of the seven aircraft as part of a previous agreement. Now, we’re prepared for the next phase of growth with the addition of these 14 NextGen CRJ900s.”
Phased delivery and induction process
The first aircraft delivery is expected later this month. The induction process includes converting each aircraft to PSA’s 76-seat, dual-class configuration and undergoing maintenance to bridge to PSA’s maintenance program. Each aircraft features high-speed satellite Wi-Fi, which provides a superior experience for both customers and crew, including:
- Continuous coverage with faster connection speed and reduced latency
- Ability for more devices to be connected with no adverse effect on Internet speed
- Gate-to-gate connectivity (previously disabled below 10,000 feet)
PSA recently began the process of installing high-speed satellite Wi-Fi on all its aircraft.
“It’s an exciting time to be part of the regional airline industry, and with our continued growth – from departures to customers served to the number of aircraft we operate – it’s an even more exciting and promising time to be with PSA,” added Flannery.
