Rolls-Royce and JSX sign 10-year $300m services agreement for the air carrier’s fleet of 162 AE 3007A engines

Rolls-Royce (LSE: RR., ADR: RYCEY) today announces it has signed a TotalCare and SelectCare service agreement with JSX for its 162-strong fleet of Rolls-Royce AE 3007A engines powering the air carrier’s fleet of 77 Embraer ERJ-145 and ERJ-135 aircraft.

The agreement, valued at $300m over 10 years, provides the air carrier with predictability as well as a known cost for the services and maintenance of the fleet. 127 engines will be covered under TotalCare; 35 engines will be covered under SelectCare with an option to transition coverage into TotalCare; and the agreement will cover JSX engines for 10 years.

TotalCare is designed to provide operational certainty for customers by transferring time on wing and maintenance cost risk back to Rolls-Royce. This industry-leading premium service offering is supported by data delivered through the Rolls-Royce advanced engine health monitoring system, which helps provide customers with increased operational availability, reliability and efficiency.

SelectCare allows operators to purchase an agreed number of shop visits for an agreed price and offers flexibility, choice and cost certainty. The service offers an agreed refurbishment shop visit pricing and access to optional services to suit the operator’s need and risk profile. It also enables operators to manage the ‘green time’ within their fleet.

Piers Keywood, Senior Vice President – Americas, Rolls-Royce, said:

This is the largest ERJ fleet in the world and we’re proud to be able to give 10 years of TotalCare and SelectCare assurance to our customer JSX to support its ambitions.”

Jeff Simmons, JSX Chief Financial Officer, said:

Maximizing engine reliability is integral to the success of our business as JSX expands its public charter jet service to more communities. We’re proud to work alongside a company as well-respected and globally admired as Rolls-Royce and are looking forward to a fruitful partnership.”

Since the AE 3007 achieved FAA/EASA certification in 1995 for the Embraer ERJ, over 3,200 engines have been delivered across all applications and the fleet has accumulated more than 60 million flight hours. The AE 3007 turbofan core is derived from the AE 1107 engine and is in the 8,000lb thrust class. It powers the Embraer ERJ-145/140/135 twin-turbofan regional jets. The AE 3007 family also powers the Cessna Citation X, the Embraer Legacy jet, and the Northrop Grumman Global Hawk/Triton.
