  • LOT Polish Airlines are launching new flights to Riyadh. Tickets are available for purchase from December 6, and the first flight has been scheduled for 4 June 2024.
  • Saudi Arabia welcomes tourists from the European Union, offering simplified entry formalities and inviting them to visit a number of unique attractions.
  • The new destination is another step towards expanding LOT Polish Airlines route network, in line with the carrier’s 2024-2028 strategy.

LOT Polish Airlines are launching direct flights from Warsaw to Riyadh. The first aircraft will reach the new destination on 4 June 2024, with tickets for that flight already being available in booking systems. The flights will be taking off on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays at 3:20 pm. The Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft operated by LOT Polish Airlines will embark on their return journey on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 1:25 a.m. local time. The flights from Warsaw to the Saudi capital will last 6.5 hours.

After Athens, Riyadh is another destination LOT Polish Airlines have launched in line with their 2024-2028 market strategy. The Polish carrier seeks to strengthen its position in Central and Eastern Europe, this time discovering new destinations for tourists and offering new business opportunities on the Arabian Peninsula.

The strategic expansion of our global route network takes into account the needs and desires of our passengers, offering them the inspiration to explore the world. That is why we are happy that Saudi Arabia is opening up to tourism, best evidenced by the agreement on direct air connections between this country and Poland and easier entry for European Union citizens. I believe that Riyadh will be an interesting destination for people who like to explore new, diverse places. At the same time, due to growing economic cooperation and a large number of investments, Saudi Arabia is a promising market for Polish business – says Michał Fijoł, LOT Polish Airlines Chief Executive Officer.

In June of this year, Saudi Arabia expanded the number of countries covered by its e-visa system to include the European Union, the United Kingdom and the United States. This provided Western tourists with access to the country’s extensive list of attractions. These include UNESCO World Heritage sites, historic cities, ancient cultural sites, mosques of unique historical value, deserts, and the world’s largest oases, with some of them being 6,000 years old. Saudi Arabia is a country of striking contrasts. The locations taking visitors back to the days of the former Saudi kingdom interlace with modern, futuristic architecture and new technologies designed with the notion of sustainability in mind.

Saudi Arabia plans to host up to 100 million tourists by 2030. Large-scale projects such as the futuristic city of Neom, a luxury tourist settlement in the middle of the desert, ski slopes, and a hotel complex on the coast of the Red Sea will attract travellers to the country.

Tickets to Riyadh are now available at lot.com, at the LOT Contact Center, at LOT Travel offices and via LOT Polish Airlines’ agents sales channels.
